Now we know why all the cars today look the same they did away with programs like this that took young peoples designs and had to have a influence on car design.
Cool I never did place with my car but I did with my rubber band plane. It is one of those fond memories I have of doing a project with my Dad. I think I placed with my plane because my Dad told me when you think you can't turn the rubber band propeller any more, turn it at least 2 more times.

Great! I built a couple (er my son did). The first came in fourth but was a really cool Bugatti. After that I went for blood. Every single trick was used. Turned wheels, axles, baked the wood block at 200 degrees in the oven, placement of the weight low in front of the rear axle, stretched the wheelbase, and a shape more like a knife than car, etc. First place with that one. I found a couple of photos of the first. That is a neat time & a favorite part of Scouts.
