Good luck with the project, and yes late model used engines are expensive for any model more so if they have problems (hard to find a good one). We put a 5.6l in a nissan titan and for a 55,000 mile motor it cost us $2700 and had to have it shipped in

Yeah too rich for the ugliness of a 04 Durango. I'm parting it and holding some key parts.
