For me, the scumbag is not the buyer, but the old owner... I was just a 1/4 Step away from buying this car and then he sold it otherwise.... That's not ok.

And now, it's not the higher Price what bothering me. I agree with Stan, no one will do that for just 500 bucks... I think he found a mess and don't want to deal with it. And that's not a good sign.

I think bobody sell a rare car like that derectly after buying it without a good reason!

Stan is 100 percent correct

This is speculation but I find it very likely: The buyer got aware of this car being for sale and being sold (with some final issues on a fitting way for payment) right here. He also learned of its rarity and the good price right here. Everything the ad says is more or less what he learned here in this one single thread.

There's no bargain in the world that would make me buy a car if I found out about a car for sale this way but I know the majority would act the same way this buyer did; so am I the only one who can understand both Will and Stan ?

HowTF can you call him a scumbag?
And how did he buy it out from UNDER Julian.
I was figuring it was picked up by a lurker on this site who grabbed it when all the information on it's rarety was posted......

I seem to have overstated it a little by refering to him as a scumbag with no evidence...... Unless that is what really happened.

OHhhh....... Walking into a salvage yard and buying parts is not exactly like buying the stuff out from under someone.... Unless their standing there looking at the parts when you grab them,

I think it might be possible that the car has some "secret" issues which results in the try of the new owner to sell it immidiatly again.

Don't consider him a flipper either, just taking advantage which may have turned into disadvantage now from the former discussion of this car.

I think your right.
Someone steps up and buys the car sight unseen..... claiming he plans on restoring it. Then decides within a week that he is going to resell it..... For more money.....?
The whole thing stinks......!

Someone followed the thread here, learned how rare the car is, saw how badly a fellow from another country wanted the car and decided he could get a "cut" out of the deal....

It's a pretty underhanded way to do do business on both the seller and buyers part.

I hope were both wrong.......

I hope you're all wrong and it's a great insiders' tip... But outside this little fairy tale world, I don't really believe that. :(

However, I contacted him to get more information and a few more pictures. Let's see what happens next.

I thought about the fact that the current seller isn't making a whole lot of money on it at his new asking price what with the shipping and all. As long as were speculating though, I'll join in and say that the current owner is an auto transporter that is also a lurker on here and just happened to be headed for home in NH with an empty spot on his trailer.

I wish i could afford to be a lurker picking up cars on my way home :poke:

The first seller told me, the actual owner had payed cash by sending him the Money with FedEx. This is not a sign of a spontaneous purchase :/

so again I think it shows he bought it and wants to sell it now again. Not with a big profit (who knows, he might be negotiable with his price, too). So why do you buy something and want to sell it quickly again if it is not for a profit?

To me it looks like the car was a disappointment so he decided to sell.

I think the guy bought the car and it was more of a project than he could handle or as someone else mentioned that he found some surprises on the car that he didn't want to deal with and just wants to sell it.

That is a good optimistic outlook...... Just seems odd that one would locate, become enthusiastic enough to purchase unseen, transport and decide to resell in the space of a week..... The car looks pretty good in the photos.... what did he expect for less then $2K....?

I think he expects $1K profit. Which is fine except for the sketchy circumstances.

It's not good to see on the small picture, but if you take a look to the bigger version, you can see it very good.
