Well, I got my new motors from Rock Auto and the restored switches so I'm ready to start on that project. Any suggestions before I begin?
Am I missing something. I've lost count on the number of motors I've R&R'ed on Formals. Other than the gawd awful task of removing the door panels ( )
the motors themselves took only a few minutes. Never had to lock the regulators either.
I have zero experience with motors in other cars. Is it that big a difference?
I replaced the rear motors on my 'vert recently. With the windows in the up position, they didn't move. I wedged a 2x4 in there on the first one as insurance. I recommend supporting the regulators with something before removing the old motors just to be on the safe side.
I assume the motors came right out
the regulator springs are no joke. make sure the arms cant move before you pull the motor.
^^^I just did a motor gear kit in a 88 Dodge van and I always lock part of the regulator in the vise so it can't spring back and hurt you.
