Rear spring shackle question

Are these the factory correct rear shackles? I know it's a bit hard to see. I'm kind of new to Mopars, my 66 Toronado had the springs mounted right under the floor with no brackets or shackles like this

When viewing the car from the side, the leafs are hanging down under the quarters behind the rear wheel

Here's an outside pic, are the springs sticking out behind the wheels because it's up higher, or is it because of the springs or shackles/hangers?

That looks correct to me. Here is a pic of my hangar after replacing the springs. Not sure I fully understand the question though?

The '69 doesn't have the hard to find offset shackle that the '70s have, so that looks correct to me.

Regarding the height, it looks like someone replaced the leaf springs with ones with a bit more arch. Some prefer that for the slight rake. Looks OK though.

I'm assuming no air or coil over shocks.

Are the springs arched more than stock? Are they painted black where the rest of the underside is a dirty brown color?

Seeing the leaf spring on the profile of a fuselage Mopar is normal. The more the " rake" the more you are going to see.
It looks great.

No, it does have shocks with coils on them though, maybe Monroe not sure

Before you mess with the leaf springs, take those off and replace with the proper shock and the rear of the car should come down and the spring straighten out a bit. It will ride better too.

They are designed for vehicles that frequently carry heavy loads , usually towing a trailer.
On a car with bad leaf springs they will pick up the rear end and likely give it a rougher ride than shocks without the coils.

What would be a decent riding shock? Have Monroe on another car and I'm not that happy with them

Most C body guys opt for the KYBs. See if others chime in .

It's all in the spring. Shock absorbers don't do anything for height... Unless they are air shocks or have the coil springs (like someone added to your car).

I have KYB shocks on my 2 Chryslers.
