Remember the Red 78 NYB with 187 miles?

Well I talked to Murray today and ordered my wiper parts. Nice guy. He told me he got 3-5 calls a week for NY's and Newports, and said he knew what I needed when I told him I had a 78 NY. We talked about his repop too. I asked him why he didn't make one for the 78 and he said he still might at some point but it wasn't easy to get it right. Anyway he brought up a 78 NY that a guy in Ohio had with 187 miles on it. I asked him if it was RED, thinking there couldn't be more than one. It was. Anyway the guy brought it out to clean it up.....First time to turn on the wipers and BOOM! That's why they weren't in the park position....But we wondered if it had really sold or not. It did and went to Bahrain.
So now we know.

Bahrain. Can't compete with that.
It will eventually get abandoned on the street there when the a.c. craps the bed.

Too bad it couldn't be at Carlisle before the boat ride so we could all see a "187 mile" Formal. It would of been a great reference car and we could of taken a gazillion pictures.

If it helps, here are a few photos of a 77 Newport with less than 100 miles on it. I tend to go to so many car shows that I see cars like this every year; not always C-bodies, but this one was.
