Remember the Red 78 NYB with 187 miles?

If it helps, here are a few photos of a 77 Newport with less than 100 miles on it. I tend to go to so many car shows that I see cars like this every year; not always C-bodies, but this one was.

How?

I do know a story about St. Louis assembly plant pausing for a model change over in 1996 and finding an '87 minivan with 0 miles, but... how?

In this case, the purchaser became ill almost immediately after buying the car and eventually passed away. The wife and family left it in the garage for years. The folks that cleaned out the eventual estate got the car.

A few years before this one, I saw a 76 NYB that was never titled. I was handed the original Manufacturer's Statement of Origin, dated in 1976. It had about 400 miles. Unfortunately, that one was stored outside for some period of time, so it appeared to be gorgeous, until you looked further.

Those are the only 2 really low mileage c-bodies I can recall, but I do see at least one low mileage original car of some type, every year, somewhere in my travels.

Oh. :( I guess that happens every so often. I was hoping a rental company lost it in an airport parking garage or something.

I'll obviously take a few "I should have..." with me to my grave.
This one is a candidate for the list.
I don't really see how you missed out, I still like yours better. Low miles is meaningless to me, other than as a curiosity. The steering wheel is the best feature of this car IMO...
