Remember when?

Rod Serling's Night Gallery
Not as good as Twilight Zone of course but well done and often had veteran actors. Was watching an episode today, the first scene, during a storm, a close-up of Auto-Temp II and fake burled wood, I am thinking Imperial but when Sandra Dee "makes a wrong turn" and stops at a cool modern house to ask directions, it's a '72 Malibu wagon:confused:. The couple who live there are nice and have some high-tech gadgets and she realizes later it's THE FUTURE and the man is really her little boy. And naturally there are other revelations!

Another thread reminded me of those tricked out vans of the 70's.

Does bring back memories! I knew a fellow who would air brush those kind of scenes completely freehand from memory. He was much like the TV painter with the afro, Bob Ross. You don't see much of that level of talent anymore, too easy to snap a picture with your phone and have it printed on a plastic wrap. The results maybe picture perfect, but in my mind, the old fashioned air brush was more pleasing to the eye.

A family friend of ours used to have an orange airbrushed van like that too back then, his family recalls it as "the coolest van in town!"

Throw away the TV and it's perfect. :)
Did that 4 years ago, didn't miss it for a day.

Ive thought about it, never anything good on, and I grow more tired everyday of the B.S. thrown at me by commercials. We still had the 70's tv until a few years ago when it bit the dust.

We used to hang out at the local speed shops (Howies and Bob's in Lacrosse,WI and New Albin,IA). Those guys knew their stuff and it was great to touch the stuff and look it over before buying. Those days are pretty much gone......
