Who wears "short shorts". Life Magazine, 1956, somewhere in Sunny So. Cal.

Before I was born, but not my parents (Mom woulda been 17, Dad was 22).

Yeah, my Mom had "tasteful" pics of her and fellow teenyboppers in the Midwest in them in 1957 -- got her grounded for a week she recalled with glee youthful glee at age 83).

Life, 1971. When I knew them in the 1970's, they were called "Hot Pants." Even flight attendants wore them in the WW 70's

Now, the stews (excuse me, "flight attendants") are all grumpy old 50 and 60-something females, or gay-as-can-be "dudes" in their 20s and 30s. Times have certainly changed.

I barely remember Mom using these. I was too young (~4-6 y/o at the dawn of the Seventies) to comprehend what they were all about. For some reason I have a scene in my head with Mom asking the Texaco man about them when he gassed up the ’67 Newport from the “Sky Chief” pump.

EDIT: I just looked it up: she must’ve been asking for them.
