Interesting thing to me?
I remember this little speech Herman gave Eddie. Somewhere in the 60's
The Munsters was a comedy obviously, with ample helpings of complete ridiculousness, "fish out of water" humor, etc. Occasionally, it would, as would ALL those old shows - Leave it to Beaver, My Three Sons. Father knows best, Andy Griffith, etc - tried to throw in "life lessons" with the laughs.
Those lessons, as much as Herman scaring the crap outta some guy to the extent the guy jumps over a 20 ft fence and climbs a 40 ft tree, or something else slapstick/comedically goofy, also stuck.
Why? My Dad would many times make the point to reinforce life lessons he resonated with when we used family time to watch those shows on ONE of our three netwrok TV stations, on our ONE B&W TV, in the "living" room.
Hence, the speech he gave his kids, after we watched THIS particular episode of the Munsters. 60 years later, its still fresh in my mind. And I have lived around the world since then.
It's a truism in almost all places/cultures i have seen.
People are all basically the same in how they want to be treated by, try to treat, others with basic respect. We aint all gonna agree, or like the same food or music or cars, vote for the same stuff --- but "can't we all just get along?" Mini-rant over
I had to look it up. it was 1965, so I was just starting elementary school.
