I plan to paint my car myself but i dont want to damage my crome, its on a 65 plymouth fury is there a safe way to remove it ?

Just grip it and rip it. That's what I do.

Ok seriously, you'll need to inspect the ends of each piece of trip there may be a bolt in trim clip or two. The plastic clips in the middle of the pieces I use plastic body trim pry bar tools sold at the local Chinesium off gassing / ventilation store.

I also pulled all the interior panels to access from the back side too, when I could. These clips are gold no one makes a re-pop of them, so be very careful.
