riding mower:

I had a Craftsman lawn tractor for ten years. Great machine. Replaced blades, fixed two tires, changed the oil, filters and battery. One day, it locked up. That's when I bought the Husqvarna ZTR, very similar to the on shown.

Mowers suck. I hate my lawn tractor and it hates me. Its a 2001 crapsman that I got for free replacing the 1991 MTD that was the best mower I have ever had, besides a 18" Toro that I pulled out of the trash in 1979 it was probably 25 years old then, wish I had it back.

Find a Case or Ingersoll in decent shape and it will outlast 10 of the mtd style cheepo tractors.

Plenty of acres to mow around here, Ill spend 20 in fuel on one mow, with 2 people. I used a couple of new menards, home depot riders that didn't last 3 weeks (pure junk) I got one of these on sale at the end of the season and its a good mower.

my only complaint is lack of an oil drain system, which is easily handled by $3.00 of pipe pieces. Otherwise when I would go to drain the oil it got all over the frame.

I have the cub cadet 1046. Great mower, had it for about 5 years now, no problems.

I bought an X-Mark out of ah bankruptcy auction in '02 with 1400 hourz on it and when the new owner of our little Ponderosa in MI. opened the door on the Mail Pouch shed and saw it looking at him he waz gonna buy the place even if the price needed to be readjusted upward which it did, lol...Oh and in 13 yearz I'd added just over 200 hourz while buzzin' the acre and ah 1/3rd. that waz the Ponderosa. And az farz I know the X-Mark iz one of very few ZTRz that haz the mower deck constructed from 3/8th" welded sections of steel plate. Pay attention to what the pros are hauling from one job to the next an you'll know why with proper maintenance those Kohler 24-28 HPz will last 9000-10000 hourz, Jer

I bought a Kubota zero turn diesel mower 3 years ago, and I've never had so much fun mowing grass. It's like a thrill ride at Disney World!
Makes me wish the grass would grow faster....

This is funny. I'm sitting outside, as I'm reading this thread, enjoying the weather and I'm watching Pedro and his wife mowing my lawn, edging the grass, and blowing off all the debris.
$20.

Let's see.
Mower..... $1,200
Edger/weed whacker.....$200
Leaf blower.... $100.

1500÷20=75 mowings=~2 years.
No maintenance and repairs.
No gas and oil.
No storage.
No mowing.

The only mower I ever had that made me feel this way was a Gravely with an 18 horse Kohler, front mounted 52" deck, dual wheels, laterial steering and a riding sulky. I would ride it around just for the fun of it.

That works fne, if you have a postage-stamp-sized yard. When you have a real man-sized yard, you spend a little more. And there isn't a Pedro around that would touch an acre of yard for less than $75.00 a pop.

The common man calls Husqvarna a husky.... now the mtd sold through tractor supply is called a huskee.... it's identical to a yard machine sold through home depot. Or a Troy Bilt sold through lowes. Cub cadets are a little better, but still use the same bones as the mtd cause there built by mtd. even the craftsman riding mowers now are built by mtd. For 20 years they were built by American yard products.

If Pedro wants to do mine for $40 he has a deal.
