RIP Charley Pride

a sad day,, In 1971 While at Minot AFB my room mate who was canadian would head back to the barracks, turn on his record player, and played Charlie Pride Full Blast! the Unit at the time hated his Music.me too,,,,,,,,,but I learned to like country after 18 months of Charlie Pride. Very fond memories!

Most of the time I enjoyed his music when I was a kid, it was on the car radio. Probably I'm not the only one here who can associate his tunes with riding in his or her parents' C-body. Some really good songs he sang. I wasn't old enough, when it debuted, to get the veiled meaning of "Kiss an angel good mornin'...and love her like the devil when you get back home."

Another sad loss.

What a shame. His performance a month ago seemed he had a few good years ahead of him.
