What brand were your calipers? I.E. what company was the rebuilder?
I made the mistake of purchasing rebuilt calipers recently for my modern Magnum. They have cast aluminum bodies, and phenolic pistons. A terrible combination. I learned alot though. Mostly that you should always buy new for modern LX's at least, given their finnickiness. Also that the only rebuilding company worth their weight in salt is Centric. In the case of these types of calipers, they are the only one's who hone the cylinder and replace the piston with an actual new one. Which is really the only way to do them the right way.
