Rough Bird. 1970 C -body junker? $700.00. Superbird junker? $70k. Painfully reminds me of a Hemi Superbird I lost out on in '97 when I was within one day and $500.00 of acquiring such. The ones that get away......

Hauling it backwards on a trailer like that, it may wind up on its roof in a ditch before they get the chance.

The majority of the car's weight is behind the rear axle of the trailer. That can set up a bad case of tail wagging the dog. If you've ever followed a camper trailer on the interstate that starts swaying wildly, you'll find the person loaded all their stuff to the back of the trailer to "save" the tow vehicle from carrying the weight. Lots of them wind up in the rhubarb if they don't get a handle on it in time.

If the engine was out, it wouldn't be so much of an issue other than the aerodynamics.

Does towing a vehicle on a trailer cause a change in air pressure under the vehicle like if it was driven on its own power?

Reading about towing a Superbird/Daytona backwards makes me thinking that the air coming over the car would make a swirl of air under the nose cone and the wing would lower the rear end, so that even more air would go over the car.

I'm thinking a wing designed to generate downforce when traveling one direction is going to create lift if you turn it around.

That's why NASCAR had to put roof flaps in the cars because at 200 MPH, they took off when they spun backwards.

As long as he keeps the trailer under 200, he's probably going to be OK...

It safely reached its destination. It turns out I know the owner. He has another one and sold the third one or of a package deal. He didn't say what he paid, but he bought them in 1983. From what I know of him he's a great guy that's always helpful.
