No this is the real deal from a 65 Plymouth fury from Arizona. It had a bit of surface rust which I dealt with. I regrettably cut off the front of the pan since I didn't want to disassemble the front clip off the car again. One day if I do a complete resto I can replace that part since I used a cut off wheel to cleanly remove the front section

Humour.... it is a foreign word to us Canucks eh' & I can be a bit slow sometimes... My wife will attest to that... :)
I am not calling this a complete resto yet since I am not tackling the wavy body panels and painting the car just yet.
Besides, this is just a weekend repair... A very looooonnnnngggggg weekend repair!

I fabricated the extension I need for thr floor pan today. Turned out pretty good for bending it by hand

I think you're doing a fabulous job... keep it up and you will want to smooth those 1/4s

Just a dumb-*** question. Is the new pan shorter, or did you cut more off the original?
Not a Dumb *** question.
No I didn't cut it shorter, it came from a 65 Fury.
The front section is identical to the Polara but the rear section where I attached my extension is shorter in a Fury so I had to extend it by 3" to make it fit my car.

This is beyond awesome. Your pics have taught me a lot about floorplans.
A lot of people can patch but you can replace.
Not to take away from others that have done it but this is fairly heady stuff for most of us.

Again, I was very fortunate to find this floor pan & the rear frame rails.
After buying this Polara and finding out that these are essentially white elephants on the collectible car world, I have really learned about these cars as well as to how hard it is to find quality body metal for these models we have all fallen in love with.

Thanks for the confidence boost Stan.
This is the first time I have done any major body work in my 54 years other than the replacement of the front stub frame in spring or 2014

I only know what I know because of the other members of this forum and the C body Dry Docks plus Facebook as well which for some of us is not a favor place to use :D

As I learn, I share...

It's the only way we will keep these cars going since we are part of the minority in the car collectible world.

I painted thr underside tonight...the stamping #'s are in amazing condition

I added the black Rust Bullet to the underside of the floor pan leaving the edges for now. it will be much easier to touch up the section rather than painting the entire pan on my back when it's installed this weekend.
I also primed the floor in the car in preparation for the installation..

I added the satin black tonight. It should be installed tomorrow morning after another test fit

It will eventually be body colored?

I'd love to have it the factory colour but this car has forgotten what colour it was originally :)

The interior pan will be close but not quite correct since this will be covered in sound deadening material, floor matting, and a new carpet.
I have covered it in the white rust bullet which is a blindingly gloss white..
The under side as you can see is going to be a satin black front to back which I know was body colour but this is not the car to try to do that with since it has undergone many colour changes in its' life.
Originally it was the yellowish cream white then to red, then to metallic blue, then back to an off white. It's a confused car...

If I should win the lotto max here I will give it of to someone to change it to a bright metallic red and change the interior to a nice crisp white..or find a pristine one and simply pay the cash and drive it away :)

I am on a stretched budget already and I can't justify spending tons of money on paint that isn't going to see the light of day once it covered..
I will redeem myself by painting the trunk with the spackle gray finish though just like the factory finish.
I ordered the factory re-popped trunk mat and body plug kit yesterday as well.
Spending $60.00 on a handful of plugs kills me!

My overall goal is to make a real solid driver/cruiser not to win any 100 point judging shows..

Amongst myself and brothers, we have too many friends that will not drive their cars because it might rain or get dirt in the wheel wells...
A bunch have over $100,000 invested in their babies and won't drive them at all!
None are worth more than $30,000 tops if they tried to sell them.
We are very concerned that they have forgotten what it is to have fun with a classic.
It's an illness in all truth...

I installed the pan this morning and it is now setting up. I used the 3M 8115 body adhesive system & a # of self tapping screws to bring it all together.
I was concerned about pan distortion so I went this route.
Sealed the edges as well right away and it is now drying.
