S23 Sport Fury undergoing restoration

It has the wrong booster for a '70 disc brake equipped car. He will figure that out when he tries to install the shift linkage and fender braces.

That's Wollfen's car. I'll take a wild guess and say it's probably C Body Bob on the other end of the camera. He had a post about doing some You Tube videos, but I haven't had a chance to check out his channel yet.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. My '70 Sport Fury has the same large diameter, single diaphragm booster.

Not all 1970 disc brake cars came from the factory with the Bendix dual diaphragm booster.

They were dual diaphragm boosters with the 440 engine, which this is being converted to.

I think he said he's reinstalling the 383. It was the cameraman who said 440 IIRC.

Jeff

I had a '71 New Yorker with a 440, and that had the large diameter booster. Did they change things from 70-71?

The booster changed sometime about mid-year for the 71 model year. As far as I know all '70 big block C-Body cars should have come from the factory with the dual diaphragm unit. The dual unit continued to be an option for heavy tow packages and some police cruisers until the end of the '72 model run. There were a few disc units produced for 6cyl and 318 cars that had the small single diaphragm unit produced by Bendix for the '70 model run. In '71 some big block C-Bodies had the dual units and some did not, I think that they were used until the supply ran out and then were switched to the large single units.
