1970 Charger 500. There is no title or paperwork for this car but VIN and fender tag are intact. A person may be able to obtain a bonded title (not sure of other states) but it is costly and lengthy to do so. For this reason and the condition of the car is why it is being sold as a parts car or race car only and at this price. I am firm on the price as you and I both know The value and scarcity of 68-70 Chargers and parts. This was originally a 383 Magnum /727 auto car, medium red with black vinyl top and black and charcoal interior and rare audio package consisting of extra speakers and amp activated by an under dash switch. It was not a special order car but left the factory with those options. Some of the audio package is still present. Sadly most of this really no longer matters.
The car is mostly as I purchased it with the exception of a couple parts I bought for the car. I have many projects and it is simply not worth it to me to build a race car or pursue a title at this time as I can use the money elsewhere. Basically what you see is what you get. All glass is present except drivers door glass and windshield. Some regulator pieces missing in drivers door. There is plenty of rust present in this car. Floors, rear frame rails near the bumper, trunk floor, quarters, drivers door bottom, etc. all the typical rust found on these cars. The passenger door is complete and solid but has a crease near the top (fixable).
The front suspension is intact minus steering box. Rear end is a smaller unit out of an early Barracuda. Steering column and dash cluster are present along with a few misc pieces and rear 500 tail light surround (needs attention). I have a complete extra 70 Grill with some flaws but is able to be restored. Only one small piece missing but can be grafted from grill in car. There are a number of cracks to address but it IS savable. A 70 Grill is nearly impossible to find and expensive in mint or savable condition. THE FRONT FENDERS ARE FIBERGLASS AS IS THE FRONT VALANCE. The hood has a little rust on the underside and each corner is a little bent from obvious improper storage. The hood is straight and solid otherwise and fixable.
The rear bumper is present and straight and solid. It would be a good bumper to rechrome. If I didn't mention it it likely isn't there. The car is mostly a bare shell. I have the headlight cover motor and doors but headlight assemblies are gone. I robbed a 73 Imperial of the headlight assemblies and had planned to modify them to fit. I also have a forged crank 440 and 727 auto from the same Imperial (still in the Imperial). I will sell the entire Imperial separately for $500. I will not sell the Imperial until the Charger sells in case someone wants the driveline for the Charger. The Imperial has a title but is screwed up. The Imperial is worth a bit in parts as only 2,500 two doors were ever made.
I have been brutally honest and open. I will not haggle. You can use the car and believe the price is reasonable or look for another Charger/ parts. No reason to waste your or my time. I cannot allot time to taking a thousand pics, IT IS RUSTY so assume the worst. The only trade I will consider is an air cooled beetle with good title. I will trade the Charger and Imperial both for a decent beetle or beetle project. I will not deliver, meet half way etc. No other trades at all.
Texting is best but if you are serious about the car(s) and don't want to play games, just give me a call. If I don't answer please leave a voicemail with callback number etc. so I can return your call promptly. Thank you (618) five one six 2431.
