Put the phone number into a google search with the dashes and put the word 'scam' after it. Then look at the results and see if someone already called it as a scam or if it is listed to a person. The other thing to do is send a email if you can and ask him for the vin. Usually a scammer will not provide it.

Pics now. 4 door sedan with rust. Price is about right. Doubt scam, just didn't describe true condition.

Would that be a tall deck 383?

Someone's got a lot of work ahead of them.

Those were the last of the body on frame forward look cars, with the exception of the Imperials.

When I see those indications of rust, It makes me want to see the floors in the car. Generally when I see that kind of rust, at every one of the body mount points there is substantial rust. The trunk would show some of it and is the easiest to see. With some of those body on frame cars, I often wonder what kept the body from even staying attached it is so bad. The price is too high for a 4 door 59 Windsor in that condition, I believe. But at least it runs nicely. But be prepared for a lot of body off frame rust repair.

I got to thinking, would that crank slip right into a low deck??

Well it says it has main journals the same as 383, 361. I guess my question would be the counterweights. Also one would be make a stoker at the cost of a kinda scarce golden loin motor.

Where does it say that?

The 383RB was built on the same line as the 413 was. Chrysler would not have tooled up 2 different 3.75 stroke cranks and 2 different main bore RB blocks when all they had to do was change the mold size of the 413RB cylinders. That's assuming that the as cast bore of the 413 block wouldn't clean up at the 4.03 383RB size.

Post #7. I just report the news, I don't make it.

'59 and '60 Windsor and Saratoga models received the 383RB, slightly shy of 100,000 units IIRC.

Up here in the Salt Belt of S-W Ontario Canada that car is considered in very decent driver condition! If only the Canuck buck wasn't in the toilet compared to the USA dollar

I agree. I would love to be tooling that around on a set of studded tires right now.

The US built 1959-1960 Windsor and Saratoga used the RB 383. Helped Chrysler cover the cost of the RB block. The Windsor used a 2-bbl carb and the Saratoga was 4-bbl.

In Canada, the 1959-1964 Windsor used the B block 361 V8, 2-bbl, while the Saratoga used the B block 383 V8, 4-bbl.

Checked the 1959 and 1960 parts books and the 1959-60 Chrysler C1 (Windsor) and C2 (Saratoga) RB 383 used the same crankshaft and bearings as the RB 413.

The RB 383 had a different block casting than the RB 413 due to the smaller bore size. For 1959-1960 :
B 361 casting number - 2120229
RB 383 casting number - 2120329
B 383 casting number - 2120429
RB 413 casting number - 2120529
