In the final months of World War II, the HMS Sussex, a Royal Navy heavy cruiser launched in 1928, bore scars that told the story of Japan’s desperate defense. Off the coasts of Southeast Asia in 1945, kamikaze pilots of the Imperial Japanese Navy turned Mitsubishi Zero fighters into weapons of sacrifice, striking at Allied ships with precision born of desperation. One such attack left a haunting imprint on the steel flank of the Sussex—the outline of a Zero seared into the cruiser’s armor, as though the aircraft’s final instant had been frozen in time. The mark stood as both testimony to the ferocity of the Pacific War and the sheer resilience of Allied vessels designed to withstand such blows.

The newcomers are all crying over on FB because they can't take they're morning walks due to the storms and unusual high tides we've been having for the past several months... (it's the season folks)

But nobody is crying about all the foam pollution, seems they just pass it off as 'Sea Foam' as if it's something natural these days. It's been way worse during the hurricanes of past years.

.

Is dissolved organic matter considered pollution?
Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhh, don't be fooled, I never saw this 'Sea Foam' when I was a kid over 50 years ago in the ocean, the only time I saw foam was when I was a very young child and we were vacationing on Lake Erie in the 1950's and there was this pipe coming right out of this cliff further down the beach which had this soapy foam flowing into a little stream right into Lake Erie. When I asked my mother what it was she just said that someone was doing their laundry in one of the summer cottages that we we renting.

LAFF

The sea foam is just biodegradable laundry detergent, well let's just say hasn't biodegraded yet. Mark my word.

"Seawater contains dissolved salts, proteins, fats, dead algae, detergents and other pollutants,"

.

Can't be good, that's for sure. Interesting that you did not see that 60 years ago.

With all the young people freaking out about the 'Harvest Moon"(?) and 'King Tides' as if this was some new phenomenon affecting the planet, we'll toss up a old image that has been going around the 'net for years.
Yes folks 'old school' Photoshop nothing AI about this one!

What's there to freak out about?
King Tides and flooding, can't go to the beach for their therapeutic walks or lounging in the sun as with tides & wind the water is beating on the sea walls pretty much all day this past couple of months.
The waste of money (taxpayer $$$$$$) being spent on beach re-nourishment that has pretty much all been washed away now, think of the saying "Shoveling sand against the tide". What else? Oh the beach is disappearing and it's not as big as it was when I was born, I think this is a Gen X cry or maybe a Millennial, any way's in my 'Boomer' lifetime the sand will come back (always does) but it may take 10 years depending on weather conditions (Global Warming) or may not due to the population explosion and all the increased driving on the beach loosening up the hard packed sand (rev it up and spin the tires) then there is all the artificial reefs (40) that some bright bulbs decided to create over the past 2 decades to appease the surfers & Charter Fishing industry. (That's where they dumped all the I-4 old concrete during the rebuild/repave).

Shall I go on?

I think that'll do, thank you.
