From an article in Hagerty Daily Driver: “Salt Water and Lithium Ion Batteries Still Don’t Mix”. Storm damage from hurricane Helene brought surge flooding in the Tampa Bay Area. Reports were saying as little as 3” of salt water under electric cars was enough to cause combustion. Several cars were totaled and some of the adjacent homes were either totally or partially destroyed. The car in this clip took less than a minute to combust and go out of control.
