Selling the 300....

I don't get why this has everybody stirred up. If I am interested in a car I don't give a damn what the seller paid for it. Just looking at the pics that car looks to be a 4000 to 5000 dollar car. If he had not bought it and put it on he market it would still just be setting in some ones yard. It doesn't matter to me if he kept it 5 years or 5 days.

I don't think you understand what's going on. We don't care that he bought it to sell. He couldn't be a man about it and be honest. He made up these fake scenarios about life's events. In the time he posted here and listed the car on Craigslist by his own admission the time that had elapsed the realtor hadn't even come by yet......

The fact that he has the opportunity to buy his dream house, and everybody asks him about it.... His response oh.... we haven't found it yet...

This is the moral of this story and the point

For many here, this isn't about how much he paid for it - or- what he is/did sell it for. It's about the apparent deception.

The guy who sold it came here to the site explaining he had just found a great deal of a car and seemed excited about it. He was a young guy and gave the impression to everyone that he was genuinely interested in the car - the same as any of us here would if we had just made a good purchase.

Then, suddenly, a few days later, the guy explains that he "never thought he would be the one to write this". "THIS" being he has a chance to buy his dream home and has to sell the car. After some gut checks from the guys here, it turns out the guy buys and sells cars (and other stuff for a profit). This car was just another one of the things. He finally admitted that this was another thing he bought and intended to sell. Normally this would be no big deal but the way he came to the sight makes it seem as though he was being less than up front with everyone.

Why not just come right in here and tell everyone that he is a a car hunter and seller. He seeks out old cars and finds good homes. No doubt he would have gotten some good natured ribbing but not the vitriol he received when his true intent was revealed.

Thats the way I see it. Besides, it makes for good man-drama.:eek:s_dancing2:

So shame on us for not sniffing him out up front.
He's just about one of the few that has got past us.
So now we are smarter.
And he's gone now.

Didn't you ever want to type into Google, "most stupid epic thread ever" and have it link to FCBO.
