how do they know it is a numbers matching car as I was told they didnt stamp engine number ids till 68

You're right, no "numbers matching" per se in 1965. I believe the only thing you can validate on a car of this vintage is that the engine block casting and build dates are prior to the vehicle build date (by a couple or few months).

must be tough to put gas in. looks like the filler runs uphill

Great looking car! That said...he's still out of his mind and has "B-J Syndrome" LOL He's nuts for even thinking that car is worth anywhere near 53k... 5300 is more like it! Very pretty car but just too many flaws to bring that kinda cash.

How could you make it through all this typical used car salesman talk ? I had to stop after the intruduction.

The seller never did respond to my question a to why they never replaced the leaf spring bushings....

Just looked and the bid is at 28,850 and the reserve is not met yet!

Guess they didn't like being called to the carpet on this legitimate question...

Some sucker of a buyer is going to get burnt bad!
This car was not restored.
It was fixed up.

The one that really got fixed up some day. ;)

Wasn't the filler tube going through the trunk wasting lots of space in there, still hard to believe someone alters this on such a car for more convenience. Or they altered it to use this supposedly new repop gas tank for some other model.

Please note the gas door.
I know about the change in the filler pipe location.
I know all about it.
I'm talking TORQUE BOX here.
The one for sale is totally fabbed up. And poorly at that.
Sounds like there was a LOT of rust back there.

This is all Home Depot angle iron.
