Six Days On The Road/What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

Next time you go....take me!!!! Awesome trip and story. Memories forever!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this.....

Nice road trip....makes wish I went along for the ride.
I was glad to have a person to ride with. I drove through all the populated areas, and a ton of countryside. I wanted Jared to be able to take in the scenery, as I had seen a lot of it before. It was nice to be able to stretch out with the extra room. Would have been rough with a regular cab truck.

Thanks Scott for the great write up and pics. It's good to know you've made it safely home... The new car does look sweet, I suppose the thaw will have you bustin your butt getting her roadworthy.
Yeah, I'll be busy, indeed. 4 projects of varying degrees, plus a parts car to strip. I can't wait for the snow to melt, and stay gone. I'm trying to stay in top of things in life and carry that over to the cars. I usually fizzle out after the thaw, and don't want to have that happen this year. New year, new attitude, new ambition. I have vehicles that I haven't driven on the road since I've had them, and I need to change that.

I know of a few things that need to be done on the car, I hope I can have the exhaust installed real soon so I can fire up the engine, and take it for a spin. Might just go over all the brakes, and swap out the master for a dual circuit unit before I start it, I know it will happen sooner than later. Need to get a checklist of things to do. I haven't even really gone over much of the car. I did go look at the crap in the trunk today real quick. 452 heads, alt and bracket, A/C brackets and idler, pulleys, flex fan, 2bbl carb and intake off the donor engine. Car is a 383HP car, but I'm sure this isn't the original engine, no problem, it's a fresh rebuild so that's ok. I'm going to need a stock 383 distributor, I'll be selling the Mallory unit to anyone who wants it. It got cleaned this morning, just some crap from the gravel road, but the salt is off of it!

How hard will that windshield be to replace?

Your car looks very promising, congrats again. I'll be honest, when I joined this site I only liked a few C bodies, but now they are all growing on me!

Nothing like a good old cross country trip for a Polara! I know the feeling all too well from picking up my 71 from Wildcat in Portland. Very beautiful landscape out West, Nebraska is very boring, but I will say I was excited to see it on the way back home. Awesome pictures, Sweet ride!

My sister and I didn't sleep much on the Portland trip logging 4500 miles in 4.5 days. Made the trip up to Minnesota a breeze. And the trip to Jersey not pulling a trailer wasn't too shabby either!

I hope this car will be at Volo, that would be sweet. I want it to be in Farmington two weeks prior for a shakedown run, @2 hours, and make sure it's ready. Got a fire in me I haven't felt for a long time. Should be fun. I know what I'll be doing with my free time.

Sounds like you had a great trip minus a couple little tire issues. I would love to road trip to Cali. I flew out years ago to see family and haven't been back since.

My car went from MT to CA to AZ to CA to IA. I went 45 minutes to get it.

Beautiful pics. Thanks again for sharing.

That's called racial profiling :poke:
NO NO Friend Peter, It's called stupid Indianz. If they had a wise consol they'd build a casino and start living the Red Mans Revenge. Funny thing iz that if you stay on I-90 and do the extra 60 milez from Billings to Sheridan and Buffalo and then back east to Rapid City. If you do that trip at night you might even miss the fact that you keep crossing the Little Bighorn River south of Crow Agency. Do that in the day light an you get the whole picture AND the Topography and see what happened and how, when all the indians in the world road over the top of that hill and took out the 7th Cavalry, lol Jer

Got these today, I'll get some rubber in a couple/few weeks.

They've been dustless blasted, but I was told I'd have to pressure wash them to get the grit out of them. That's not dustless. Clean them and spray some flat clear?

Next up is buying a windshield, or 2. Then exhaust.

Scott did you see this pic posted on FB Mopar page at recent car show? What do you think or make of these rims?
