Back in the 90’s an uncle of mine had one just like that. He bought it used, and it was mint .
318 with a three on the tree.
Wish I had that car now, seemed pretty unusual.

Yes, but surely for an extra $17 they could've sewn some stitch-stripes in it.
If I was an upholsterer, that would be mandatory, I would never let someone attach my name to such a bare-bones repair.

Minimal cost of repair. Being an actual repair and not a refurbish or restore. Notice they only did the drivers side. Repairing what was worn.

That repair could have been done years ago when the car was just another used car and that is typical used car lot type repair. Yea, it could/should be better, but I've seen a lot worse. I had a '69 Roadrunner that someone had fixed the top of the back seat. Just the top 8" or so. Same type of repair where it was done professionally, but as cheaply as possible. The new green material didn't come close to matching the old... At least this is a closer match.

I was going to save everyone the horror of viewing my Newport seat. It came from a life on a farm.. ill save you the psint can stains on the trunk. I did see much of this as a kid. The guy that repaired the tractor seats was the same guy that did all upholstery in our rural area. My boss sent me out there to drop off a skidder seat it was a barn where everything from antique furniture, VW trikes, model A's and skidder seats were lined up..
