In the fall Hagerty Insurance rag. It spans 7 pages! I'm sure it will be on there .com at some point if you don't get this.

YOU ALSO GET A MAGAZINE WHEN YOU ARE A HAGERTY CUSTOMER ???? !!!!

When mine is on the road I'm signing up with them .. that seals the deal.

I was already 99% there but now I'm sold :)

No, you don't get the magazine unless you take their road service plan for an extra $125. I did some comparing on the road service and to get me and my girlfriend on all of the cars (unlimited) for $74 the first year and $84 the second year. That is thru AARP.

Matt..the 78 Fury looks very familiar to me. I will pay close attention to this when it hits their site, or we can work that other thing out. :D

I was happy to have my road service plan as it paid for itself the first time I took advantage of it last week. I've begun putting between 4 and 5 thousand miles a year on my classics and have no doubt that the road service plan will get used enough to make it worthwhile.

It's a pretty good magazine at that!
On Saturday morning I'm going to listen to 2 free seminars about survivors put on by Hagerty. Not only am I happy with Hagerty Insurance itself but also the perks that go along with it, being in the Detroit area has a lot to do with the amount of perks though.

I find that the AAA road service is far, far better than the one offered through Hagerty. The AAA covers all of my vehicles for up to 100 miles, where the Hagerty service covered only FIVE miles for towing. I have Hagerty's insurance for my old cars, which for me is a screamin' good deal. I don't need to spend $125 extra for a magazine.

I have Hagerty for the 'insurance' part and AAA for the towing part.

I have only read good things about Hagerty. I didn't realize they were based in Michigan actually I didn't even think about where they were based. I hope you have a good time at the seminars and get some great info .. since you have a uber nice survivor :)

5 miles seem pretty restrictive. Most policies I've heard of the range was ~50 miles. 100 is good with AAA then. I have all my cars except the classics with USAA and have the roadside assist. I'll check to see if that will cover another car I may be driving with the Hagarty.

Here's exactly what my road service package includes on my standard policy which I don't pay extra for.
- The first 10 miles of a tow and garaunteed flatbed.
- The first $50 of other roadside services like fuel, lockout and battery jumps.
- An unlimited number of roadside assistance requests per year.
For an extra $30 a year I get the magazine, Ask Hagerty services, discounts on products and services, enrollment into the Historic Vehicle Association and support of the Hagerty Education Program, organizations working to promote and protect the future of the classic car lifestyle.
Which means I get direct notifications of and invitations to free seminars and events put on by Hagerty and there are quite a few.
Nobody ever asked you to pay 125 bucks for a magazine Patrick....

There are some great ones but they're on Jeannie's phone, I gotta get them. I'm willing to bet Dave III got my keys faster.

Post away, I'm only human but thanks for refraining! (No need to protect my ego, that's too good a story not to share.)

yes, i know the '78 Fury...I was its caretaker for a while and the one who saved it (pics below the day it left for Seattle). the museum took it all the way back to its "in-service" condition.

So Smokey and the Bandit left this one over as illustrative material.

I remember climbing through the spot the back seat was pulled out of to unlock Dad's 69 RR once and I managed to do the ultimate stupid thing once. I locked my keys in the car WITH IT RUNNING at a gas station right after I started driving LOL. Thank goodness Dad was home to run me a set of keys to unlock it :)
