This was the Alaska Railroad General Managers track inspection car obtained at an original cost of $6,238.00.
After 180,000 miles it was retired to the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in 1985 by letter from James Blasingame, Director of Administration ARRC.
It was last licensed in 1990 for the trip from Palmer to the new Wasilla Museum home. Painted in gloss black the stately wagon was known as "The Black Maria" and is stored operational at the Museum"
