The 300 is nice though

I love the 69 300s in general, but when they are missing the triple horizontal painted pin stripes, they look very incomplete to me and really turn me off. When I see them missing, I just think the car is "half assed" even though it might be very well done.

The '69 went for $15,400 while the '68 went for $22,000. The best deal was a '71 New Yorker 4-door HT that went for $4400 and was just pristine.

I like the sportgrain option, more so on the 68 then the 69. Mercury offered a wood grain option on some of their full size hardtops & convertibles in the 60's also.

The stripes were painted on the 69 300, not tape. And were standard. I never heard of a "stripe delete", but it could likely have been avaliable.

I struggled with reapplying them on Jazebelle but decided against. I think they break up the style and are just a little over the top guady. The style is much more balanced without.

You can find the Stripe delete Option on the 70 Hurst at least, as code V78. As there was a code number, you could probably delete it on any 300, could also go for the 69, but not sure.
