1969 Plymouth Fury III - 50 year old Mopar classic

I tried to get my friend to pick this up, but I guess he can't, so I'm tossing this one to the wolves. ;)

I spoke to the owner, nice guy and a hobbyist mechanic picked this car up and wants to sell it to fund another project he just put a deposit on (we've all been there). Car was running and driving by the original owner (i think) about 6 months ago. He's given it a tune up and said that the fuel filter looked good, so no crap in the tank. I think he said the previous owner cleaned out the tank.

Looks like a very well taken care of car with only one spot of rust in the driver's fender. Not sure if the interior is original. I don't know the prices on these cars, but it looks like a smokin' deal!!!

Why is it "key"? It may hurt a bit to know that you missed out on it the first time around. However as you mentioned in your initial post, it looks like a smokin' deal, I'd agree. It looks really solid, questionable interior choices were made.

Backstory is key in many ways; damage history, WHO owned it (if they have a bad reputation, especially for shoddy repairs or bodywork), legality for another (didn't have a VIN tag in one ad, next one it magically does), tracking repairs (or lack thereof) from owner to owner. Selling cars along for a profit is all well and good, but perhaps there is an "ethical flipper" approach where you do some work before you pass it along to the next guy, which (in my opinion), is the right thing to do. The car is bettered and the next guy doesn't have to do as much, and you walk away with a deserved profit.

Sometimes it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time. "Hey, you like old mopars, right? I've got a '69 fury for sale, cheap". "Well alright then I'll take it" even though it's not needed. That's how I found my '71 New Yorker, two door, sunroof car. I was glad to have the car and allow the interim owner some "profit" for storing the car.
