You should print it out and tack it up on the wall in your garage!
I did that with my car! although mine looks a bit more professionally done...

Been a work in progress... Needed an engine, radiator and tons of TLC. The car had an interesting life. It was NEVER titled since new! I am the actual original owner as I had the MSO. It spent all of its life on dealer tags. From the original dealer in Efrata, PA till I got it. It has 55k on the clock and it was neglected along the way. I got a heck of a deal on it from a guy in Cortland NY.
I picked up a motor from a guy in Ft. Worth, he had no history of the motor as he got it from a machine shop owner who has since passed. It was under a bench in his shop and his wife called him after he died and asked if he would like a Lotus engine so he took it. He didn't need it because he was building a Lotus Esprit to run the Texas Flying mile with a Buick twin turbo V-8, the small 270 cu. in. I think. The idea of that race is to get a car to hit 200 plus MPH in a mile distance. Apparently its very difficult to do so he built a Lotus Esprit to do it. The Esprit has about a .30-.33 coefficient of drag depending on year and splitters, spoilers, wing etc. Anyway I got the extra motor. Luckily it runs great!

sweeeet. I love it! I have never seen a hatchback(?) Lotus before. pretty damn cool.

ya learn something new every day.

My Dr. has an Esprit (or was it an Elan? whichever the bigger one of the two is) kinda like your orange one. I dont remember what year it is, but he took me for a ride in it (he is one of old man's good friends) and ill be damned if I could take my head off the headrest in the first 3 gears! lol

btw, is your Elite a mid-engine?
No, the Elite is front engine, the Esprit is mid. Actually it's a four seater, though I wouldn't want to be back there for long. Lotus thought they would try to tap into the "Family" car market a bit like Ferrari did with their four seaters. That way they could hit the doctors, lawyers etc. That were starting to have families but still wanted the performance of a sports car. I'll get some pics of the back seats... the look like something from NASA LOL. Very cool though. They are pretty rare.. only about 2300 and change made world wide from 74-84. Weird thing is another older gent here in my town has 2 that he wants to sell.... what a dilemma I'm in Hahaha.

The Esprit is bigger than an Elan so that was probably it... and, as well as the Elan handles, the Esprit is the one that shoves you back in the seat, and handles even better than an Elan:)

LOL

ya, that would be cool to see what the interior looks like. how big is the motor in the Elite? I would imagine with the rakish hood in sits pretty low.

A dilemma indeed. are they in decent shape? seems like you have some room you need to fill up there at your compound. lol

Hahaha, I've got 12 already! Counting my truck and camper. It's a 2.0 litre slant 4. Here's a twist for you... back in the late 50's Lotus actually helped develop the infamous slant-6! This is an off shoot of that. Lotus figured out that by tilting the engine they could get a longer stroke and thusly get more torque from the engine, and that's what made the slant 6 such a great engine, and also the Lotus engine. They made it just a whisker bigger to 2.2 litre and turbo charged it eventually. That's what's in my '89. Makes 264 BHP, not sound like much by today's standards when a corvette is pushing 500 plus, but for the day that was HOT. Especially from a 2.2....0-60 in 5.2 sec. And I can get about 27 MPG as long as I keep my foot out of it. Then it drops to about 21. The final version of the 2.2 was in the '94 Esprit S4S and it made 300 BHP. It was then replaced with a 3.5 litre V-8 twin turbo that made 350 HP, they used that engine until the end of the Esprit in 2003.
Another Chrysler link to Lotus engineering is the Dodge Daytona from the early '90's the high performance turbo models were a Lotus engine but tuned down a bit.

well, alrighty then! seems you are good on vehicles! lol

wow. so cool. I didnt know any of those Lotus-Chrysler connections. I knew they had collaborated on a few things, but I didnt know it went that deep.

Funny story...My Dr told me that the producers for the movie Pretty Woman contacted him that they wanted to use his car in the movie and he told them to pound sand. lmao

Yikes that sucks! well, if you didnt live near the Arctic Circle, you may have a bit of warm weather by now :poke:

Spring, my ***! Doba should be glad he's in the tropics. April 25th, and this is what we have to put up with this morning.

I remember it was this time, perhaps a bit earlier in April of 2004. I woke up to a BITTER frozen Calgary hotel parking lot to tune the Monaco after coming down out of the Rockies the night before. She was none too impressed with the weather there ... nor was I.
