St. Catharines Ontario Downtown Car Show

The funny thing the wine regions south of Lakes Ontario and Erie are virtually unkown outside of NY state and Ontario.

I don't understand why that is either. The Finger Lakes wineries in NYS are a lot better known.

When I'm in that area, I usually go to some of the wineries around there. I have a favorite restaurant in Niagara on the Lake (The Stone Road Grille) that I hit too.

Haven`t been there but will have to give it a try. Reif Estate Winery is a nice spot. They actually do a show each year at the end of July.

I highly recommend that you try the Gewuerztraminer next time you come across.

I never would have thought to read about this sort of wine in an overseas forum, you should consider a travel to our area in Germany, one of the largest wine producing spots over here. They created the Mueller-Thurgau in this area, just in case you grow these grapes as well in Canada.

Can`t say that I tried that wine and haven`t seen it in stores here. The closest we got last year was Austria when my wife and I were visting relatives. Another nice Austrian wine that I haven`t seen here is Gruener Vetliner.

Our Finger Lakes region is compared often to the Rhine region of Germany for its Reisling grapes and wines.

That's our region here. Riesling spritzer is supposed to be the regional Cool Aid served in pints over here.
