Steering Gear Tube Insulator - Where does it go???

While looking for various replacement rubber parts for my '63, I came across this: Steering Gear Tube Insulator | 1958-1964 Mopar Cars | Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts

My car came from the Southwest, and a lot of my rubber bits aren't great as a result. I probably should replace this, and it's not expensive. The listing says installation is "straightforward". I just can't figure out where it goes! I have a factory manual, but even the section on the steering gear doesn't seem to explain this part. It's one of those times the manual just kind of assumes anyone reading would know.

I'd love any advice, and especially pictures!

Per the ad, OEM part number is 1822668

Look up the part number in 1964 parts book showing illustration is 19-15-10.

Now to 19-15-10 and that gives you a pretty good idea where it goes.

That happens. Sometimes there are pages missing from the MyMopar downloads and sometimes they were never there to begin with.

Then there are updates and you never really know if what you're looking at is the latest revision. I just opened my digital copy of the '64 manual because I noticed in the ad that it was the latest vehicle it would fit...

It's not an exact science, that's for sure.

Not a fun job to replace that. It goes on the end of the steering shaft where it enters the steering box. Must remove the outer column housing in the car. Many possibly snags along the way. Does your horn work now? It may not after the surgery.

Thanks so much! Even though it looks like the 1963 parts manual still ignores this part, the exploded diagrams are even better in some cases than the service manual. I'm so glad for the resource.
