What a shame. This is why I always disable my car's ignition in a situation like this. So it can't be driven off but will need to be towed away which is more obvious. Not many times it is ever parked in a lot of any kind like this out of my vision though. I even do this to the cars parked at home and it is effective. Even I forget after awhile and then go out to the car to start it and it won't start until...duh!

Can be easily disabled by unplugging a wire to the starter relay or the ballast resistor at the firewall.

I agree with you on that... the problem is in the pc world the o's have created it could turn into a race crime, and become front page news. It read = person drug though street for no reason. Even though the man got his car stolen first.

Yeah I do the same thing. Make it so it just cranks, and it would require time and effort to "maybe" get it started....they would move on. I too forget that I have disabled my vehicles at home, and wonder why it won't start after cranking for 30 sec or more.

I have an electric fuel pump with a not so obvious switch, which would slow them down, and my louder exhaust would tip me off, if I'm awake.

I saw your post on CL and thought I'd share it with the class. I feel your pain! Some jackass stole my car hauler two months ago. I get pissed every time I think about that.
