What city was is stolen in? Keep on that department by calling them about every 5-7 days as to its' status. Remember, if they notify YOU, it has already been in an impound yard for a week or so, and racking up storage fees daily. Stay on the cops about it. My son's Honda was stolen from a mall three years ago. They recovered the car, completely intact save for a broken ignition, in just three days. I called on the third day and they had just picked the car up 33 miles from where it was stolen. I picked it up THAT DAY and it still cost me $110 to bail it out. Had I waited for their mailed notification to show up (which it did 13 days later!), I'd had two weeks of storage @$40.00/day plus tow fees!!!
Stay on them about the car, but by the same token, don't be an *** to them about it. Email as many pics of it as you can to their Auto Theft unit, along with your case number and name.
