Yep, it was pretty easy to get in during the mid 1970's when I went in. A lot of guys with "I had to enlist in the Army or go to jail situation". Another big threat back then for guys in the Guard or the Reserves was the threat of putting them on "Active Duty" for FN up or not showing up for "weekend drills".

many of those who went to canada are now sending others to war..........what a frigging joke!

Oh, and a guy who lived on the next block from me who molested a kid got told to go in the army for 1 year as punishment.....like that was going to fix the problem!
