You have to test them hot and cold. If needed I have some good tested ones around.

It sure does seem like an electrical issue given the symptoms, but I also wonder what engine/carb is on the car? If it is the 400 with the Holley 2210 2 bbl on it, your air horn might have finally warped enough to start giving those same kinds of symptoms. Because the air cleaners were held on with a stud mounted only to the air horn and not all the way down to the base of the carburetor, the air horns warped pretty easily after many engine heating/cool down cycles and constant tight pressure on the air cleaner wing nut. Do you keep your air cleaner tightly mounted? For most vehicles with this carburetor on it, this problem will come eventually, guaranteed.

Problem solved. It was the condenser again. I'm about sick of changing them.
It is the 400 with the 2210 carburetor. I already know of the warping problem, and I keep the air cleaner barely finger tight.

Thinking you have outsmarted Mr Murphy, by not having to set.your points once a year, no thanks, he will catch you.
I have even begun to shy away from Mopar style ECU because of price and unavailability.
All my future changes are going to GM module style, cheap, easy to carry spare, still on the shelf at most crappy auto parts stores.

Everybody has their perferences,and every system have their own faults.
Pertronix or Points? Keep spare points/condensor next to the ballast resistor in glove box..
Electronic Iginition....I keep a spare ECU in the trunk.
Expect the worst,hope for the best...

I don't mind points. Easy to swap out on the side of the highway if need be. What I do mind is the constant stream of terrible condensers. No matter where you buy, how much you spend, they all suck. The NOS one lasted the longest. About 3 months, and I don't daily drive this car by any means. Also, this is a car in immaculate condition, and since it came from the factory with points, that is how it will stay.

Of course, my own brain has screwed me over a time or two. I was blaming the hard starting in my Challenger on electronic ignition and it was really just bad wiring. Intermittent, only on start up, took a while to find that one and no parts needed.
