Superbird auction- 500,00?

I've always dreamt about crossing the US in a ratty, supercharged 70' Dodge Charger...but not so much as to race from point a to point b (although that would be extremely cool), but to experience America. Hop on the turnpike and head into the deep south until running out of gas, land a job washing dishes at some deep woods choke and puke...just enough to save up for more gas to feed the Charger with. Motels?? Heck no, sleeping in the backseat of the Charger. Meet all kinds of "REAL" folks along the way, get into fist fights with the locals, split some wigs, get beat up by the local cops, street race, leave and head west until running out of gas again, find another small town and do it all over again and again until reaching Redondo Beach, CA. That's living.

That sounds like the worst road trip ever.

I
People & especially truckers need to get the **** out of the left lane. It's the most dangerous thing on our roadways with no close second. States are finally passing laws and issuing tickets for clogging the left lane. About damn time....

And don't even get me started on re-treaded tires. Ridiculous....

I hear ya but the stupid cops don't enforce it enough

If its not a road trip then what is it?

He said it: To experience America.

It sounds like a trip that takes place on the road and not a very good one(trip) at that.

Good is a relative term. There are certain "things" that Gary likes. Don't judge. ;)

Yes me to and a rearview mirror full of Peterbilt grill and 70,000+ lbs. still doesn't motivate some of them, dammit!
It's when they give you a brake job at that point that gives you a heart attack. Then you really want to force them off the road.

But you can't... :soapbox:
