The 65 Ford Fairlane Wagon saga

Loaded up & headed home

I like it, but I've been warned that Ford's (non mustang) are as hard to find parts for as our big Mopars. I'm glad it'll live on another day.

While it is an ugly duckling to me, I do recall getting a ride to school back in the days in a 2 door hardtop once in a while, that was a brisk performing small V8 and probably the smoothest, most composed riding cars I have ever been in. I will never forget it.

I was about to remark about a 289 four Speed sedan or wagon as a nice sleeper, probably not too costly compared to the genuine Performance cars of the day, have*t researched Prices as of late though, truly the worst model year for falcons design wise and while using some of These cues on the German Fords from 68-71 they turned out a bit nicer IMHO.

So I put the Fairlane on a couple of Facebook sites. Not much interest. Then I put it on local Craigslist & my phone has been ringing off the hook. Geez....Hopefully it will be gone soon. Making Fords Great Again LOL

So far they have all been knuckle dragging tire kickers. The last guy that came by was walking around wasting my time looking at my collection. As we walked around behind my shop he walked right by a lot of chrome I had out on the ground sorting the bent pieces out. Narrowly missed stepping on it. On the way back he got it. Walked right on it. He got within inches & before I could say stop the next step. UNBELIEVABLE ! I said dude don't walk on my chrome. Duh oh I'm sorry. KNUCLKLE DRAGGER ! Now I get to add a couple more pieces to the scrap pile. If you are a car guy & you go to another cars guys shop to " look around" why on earth would you walk across chrome trim he had lying out on the ground right next to his shop ?

I don't like people like that "looking" around. Things have a way of coming up missing soon after.
