Ready for the first road trip together. Leaving early Thursday AM for Ocala and the Garlits show.

The 318 got a new double roller timing set, water pump, thermostat, rad cap, gas line & filter, Trans cooler, Oil & filter and fresh anti-freeze. Plus a little spiffing up.

I drove about 50 miles today, including registering Connie at the courthouse. PERFECT.....!

Now to outfit and supply her, and a quick wash on Wednesday....... :eek:ld_school:

Looks great! Hard to see in the photo's if you have an equalizer hitch, if you do crank it up a bit to level out the wagon and keep the headlights out of the trees. If don't have an equalizer hitch, get one, you won't regret the purchase.

There is a set of equalizers on it. I'll wait until I have everything loaded and make the final adjustments...... :icon_thumright:

It may not be pretty this trip, but by next summer both the Admiral and Connie will be sporting new finishes.

Dang Will....you and Ellie are living the dream!!!

Safe journey to you guys!!!

Very nice Will!

Look at that. . . A correct radiator cap and a molded top radiator hose. Where is thr rest of the A/C ?

Happy trails...both in great shape. Don,t forget a tranny cooler if it does,nt already have one. Be sure to post pics

I removed the factory brackets and idler because the compressor was already off. Plan is to convert to the Sanden compressor before next summer.

Thanks Joetrucker. Look close, there is a factory tow package trans cooler just in front of the A/C condenser. I installed that last Saturday.

Here are some pic's from the Admiral and Connie's first outing together. The trip to the Garlits event and beyond.
After the Garlts show we traveled another 80 miles south to a start park and camped for 6 days. Hillsboro river state park was like a tropical paradise. Aside from a tread separation issue on one of the Admirals tires everything went really smoothly. A tire store in Zephyrhills, 6 miles from the state park was able to order a new tire and installed it the next day.
My sister and neice from Tampa came and stayed a night with us and we did a guided historical tour of the area the next day....

I limited travel to 200 miles a day, (all secondary roads), and had an abundant selection of camp grounds to choose from. The last night was spent in a Georgia state park. Lovely.
