Hey Bill how did you end up doing the rear compartment? Carpet?
A member here was able to supply me with all the carpeted floor sections, complete with the stainless load strips, from a Town & country. I need to do some restro work on a few of the strips, but that's what is going in.
The name, "Admiral" was a natural. I got the car from a Navy submarine guy stationed in Conn who had been reassigned to Guam and had to sell the car. That plus the wagon in silver has the look of a large Navy ship. I even have nautical navigation reflectors, (green & red), on the rear license plate and again on Connys mud flaps.

Thanks, sounds like you got lucky finding nice used. I was thinking of contacting ACC or Trim Parts and seeing if I could buy a few yards as I don't see any "kits" being sold anwhere.

Will was the rear cargo area carpet molded or just flat? If flat then buy and cutting carper will work out pretty well for Dave I imagine.

One thing I have seen in newer cars for helping keep headliners close-fitting to the roof panel is the use of a pair of sticky-back velcro pads in spots prone to sagging - one stuck to the roof, its mate stuck to the backside of the headliner panel. The biggest problem isn't with the Velcro pieces staying stuck together, but in making sure the piece glued to the roof panel is well-adhered.

The carpet consists of flat loop carpet, bound on the edges, (six sections), and thin polished stainless load strips spaced about eight/ten inches apart, per section.
This is the rear floor hatch section, the worse of the set.
It'd be nice to have some pics of the installed rear carpet here in the carpet thread. I know I saw some from the car show. Do you have any to post here Will?
A decent auto trim shop should be able to duplicate the edging pretty easily.
Does anyone else have those pics from the cars show of Wills rear carpet?

I haven't installed the carpet yet. The admiral still had the original grooved flooring at Carlisle.
I'm still collecting the parts and pieces I need for the interior and will tear into it all at once. I have a nice dash pad from a 70 Custom Suburban, & new gages. I need to "tune up" the A/C-heater distribution doors and install a speaker in the dash. I'm still looking for a original 69 Fury radio to upgrade, (The Admiral is a radio delete car). I thought I'd find one at Carlisle but didn't.
I'll post progress pic's when all this takes place.
Nice work on the headliner panels! The battens look like you polished them.. Are the battens stainless or alum?
