I've been working on the Admiral a little.
I got the tires turned right side out and installed the correct "deluxe" wheel covers.

Also dropped off the rear seat cushion at the trimmers, He may be able to replace just the damaged inserts into the original seat.
A rechromed rear bumper is on the way. And if Tom, (polarus), can get them off, a pair of the 3rd seat steps.
New carpet and sound deader ready to install.
I have the A/C compressor and brackets I needed but it will take some work to get that prepped and installed. DSC01669 (Small).jpg

If I can get it painted and reassembled by July we may bring it to Carlisle. The hitch I made for Jazebelle to tow the pop up will directly bolt up to the wagon.

This car will look great with a new paintjob in this subtle silver Grey hue.

As much as I like the high trim level and woodgrain panels. The plain jane look is what I like about this car and the silver just adds to that. This car was special ordered just that way for whatever reason. P/S, P/B, A/C and wheel covers with Black side walls. Not even a radio or clock.
It's what I remember growing up as the neighborhood station wagon.

Very Nice Will. Will Ellie allow a non convertible trip? Shes a ragtop girl isnt she?

Yeah ....... But she really likes the Admiral. She gets as excited about Carlisle as I do, How we get there isn't that important.
We,ve made the trip twice in the Coronet convertible and twice in Jazebelle, After the first place last July it's time for something completely different.
The Admiral still has a long ways to go before making that decision though.

and the white letters but it's heading in the "correct" direction

Well, in the purest sense the RWL is a no-no on a 69, OK for 70. And the dog dish caps are a B body thing.
The black tires and deluxe wheel covers is how the Admiral was delivered in 12/68, according to the broadcast sheet.

I prefer the way it looks now. Only thing better would be white walls. (and perhaps road wheels).

And that's why I said you were going " correct" .

Most times the shoes are a good indication of the direction a car is going.
I like the original look, however i have my own dream of a certain wagon

What else do you need to do to get her ready for Carlisle?

I have a list of things to do ..... topped by a paint job. Which involves removing ALL the trim and refinishing/polishing it. I'd have to install a trans cooler and probably a 3:23 gear for towing the pop up. Interior is good. the rear seat cushion is in the trim shop now. I have the carpet and sound deadner and am waiting for a nice warm day to install that. A radio, The head liner is in good condition but the cardboard is sagging a little, so it has to come out and be cleaned and straightened.
A major tune up and trans service. I think I'll install a new timing set also, (73K miles and 45 years)...And then theres the A/C issue..... So...... lots to do.
