Don White, who holds the record for most USAC stock car wins, recently passed away. Below is a link to a reunion he attended. Lots of neat pictures. If you scroll down you will see a picture of the Dodge Aspen he raced starting in the middle of 1976. The caption says it is not a "Kit Car", but rather started life as a B-body and was "Cut down" to an F-body. To me it would seem almost impossible to do that. Anyone with experience please feel free to correct me.
It is my understanding it still does, I work with a guy who part times a few weekends in the Continental Tire Series and historic races... he hasn't run a full season in a few years. When he was working regularly, he often complained about whatever chassis was hacked by the last change to the rule book or rebody. I have gathered that he has the most fun working for a cheap owner who is more concerned with renting seats than fielding a competitive car/driver. When I go to the track, I just want to be a spectator and not have to drive myself home. Hot pits are the last place I want to be...That happened a lot. Buddy Arrington cut his Magnums to fit Miradas
