Here is a picture of a X block that came with a kit Car from the 70's. A couple of interesting points. First you can see the main webbing is thick enough for 4 bolt mains. And the dowel pin in the main webbing to help prevent the main cap walking if the engine experienced detonation. Also notice the freeze plugs are backed up with screws that secure them under high load. A common trick
