Stan challenged me to put a picture up of my collection of engines and see who can beat me, so here it is finally, my collection of engines, five 440's, two 383's, one 400 and one 340 motor. Woof!

I have 2 pair, 2 440's and 2 400's. Up until last night I had a full house, with 3 400's. That one is going to be a 500" stroker and find a new home in a '70 Challenger.

Here's a pic of one of the 400's

Zero, My Dad would have been disappointed in me. He pulled nearly every engine from past cars. I know there was an aluminum Buick 215 V8, straight 6 out of a Studebaker, Flat 8 out of ???, 455 Olds, and 1800cc 4 out of a MGB.

The only engine I knew he had plans for was the 215 V8, he was going to put it in an airplane, but he never got the chance to build the plane before he died. They are all gone now, my step-dad got rid of all of them many years ago, when I was away to college.

If we're talking loose, extra units I have 2 383s and 6 440s that currently don't have a car to belong to and some other extra engine parts like heads, intakes, water pump housings and vibration dampers.

Well thats 8 engines, one shy of the leader ;) Dunno about accepting extras as a bet, i could up the ante' with a half ton of "extras" :p

I tip my hat to the leader and fellow hoarder, all mine are for sale.

Right now in my poor cramped single car garage I have the wagon....and TONS of misc parts...and 2 complete 12V cummins diesel engines, a 727, a A833, a NV4500 5 Speed, a NP205 transfer case. As well as all my tools and stuff. it's a bit tight and crowded. Then there is the attic, and the 14'x16' shed...both packed to the rafters with "spare" parts. And then all the little areas outside for fenders, doors, hoods, trannies, etc......I really need some meds I think....:tard:

I have two 318's one is a 77 with about 20K miles and a newly rebuilt 727 transmission on it, The other is a rebuilt built up one year unknown at this time. both collecting dust

I wonder if two 318's beats four 273's?

I don't too many, but a few.
1968 440
mid 70's 440 (from a motor home)
factory 4 bbl 318 1982 truck
2) 360's
another 318 that I just spun a rod bearing in last year
65 383 that goes back into my Polara
and 2 318's that are complete but tore down.

and a small pile of 727's in both BB and SB, and two 904's.

I don't think anyone can beat has2bmopar, just wait till he logs in :)

I'd been tied with you, Wolfen, until a few weeks ago. Currently, I have a '69 440 complete on a stand and ready to install in something, a bare '73 440 block with all the parts, and a 24-hp Briggs and Stratton twin. Had two other 440 blocks and assorted parts I traded off several weeks ago.

Mine are definitely for sale. I've been collecting stuff for 30+ years, and it's time to sell off a bunch of stuff, including vehicles. Time to downsize. I've always been of the thought that is I have not used something in the past 12 months, it's time to get rid of it. I've had the complete 440 for over 10 years, and the 440 block for 20. The phrase "He who dies with the most toys, wins!"...is so much crap! He is dead, and didn't win ****. He just leaves a pile of stuff and other crap for people to fight over and get rid of.

Heh sounds like you rebuild an engine then think, "Hmmm, nice motor, now what can i put it in?" I had a friend of mine who would buy a part of a car, he bought a 72 Challenger grille off of me many years ago and having done that was then in the market to find a car to fit it to.
And yes while i do have a large pile of stuff I do have a purpose for most of it, I tend to buy some things cheap and will sell em later to make some money for my projects but almost half of my stuff came from buying a car and being told, oh and all this goes with it too.
