Folks,
We are just about to start the half-century anniversary of the scheduled production for our 1970 model year convertibles. We have a "Last Of The Convertibles" thread already, started by @c-barge. It initially focused on the very last ones produced (in July 1970) but has over time turned into an informal registry of sorts for these great cars.
I am using the present thread to (i) encourage tag posting there by folks who have not yet done so, and also (ii) to have a separate place where birthday celebration photos and stories of the cars can be posted.
So, who will start?
The tag of what is quite possibly the first Chrysler 300 'vert built (on 8/1/69) was posted here by @71Polara383, who found it in a yard in Fairmount, GA.
On the Newport side, the earliest '70 ragtop of which I am aware is @3C's & a D?'s, built on 9/23/1969.
On the Dodge side, @62dodge's Polara is the oldest one in the LC thread, but an older one is still rolling in the hills of Ohio (the owner is not a member, AFAIK) and, thanks to @polara71, I know of an even one that was built on August 2nd, 1969 (it was stripped and junked a number of years ago, but perhaps Dave might share some memorial info here on August 2nd).
As for Plymouth, I have come up empty-handed for August builds, although several folks who own a '70 Fury III convertible might be good candidates.
Looking forward to seeing/hearing b-day cheers!
