So I went to two shows in two weeks! I'm enjoying being in a community where there are so many opportunities!

This show was a week after the Bakersfield on, but I was not in in as my Grandson had a baseball game that day. I did go buy later. Was very hot! Lots of cars! I only saw half the show before I returned home due to a burning neck! I liked it! Clovis is a suburb of Fresno.

But it is a factory 4-speed car!

This '64 300 was sweet! The old guy in the back is the original owner. He ordered a 413 and a 4-speed! (He changed the grill though.)

This old Chrysler was sweet!

My dad would have loved this. He always wanted to see a Ford Rod with a flattie and not some Chevy stuffed in it!

And a few more:

Told you I am a sucker for Type 1 VWs. Here's another '64 witrhg '61 signal lights on it! This time I asked. He said the previous owner put them on as he liked them better. Not me! When I totaled my '61, we put '64 signal lights on it!

Not a stock '64, that's a 1771 dual-port engine. Bet you it runs well!

With the exception of that gas pedal, a rather stock interior. If you don't know, that knob next to the stick shift is the heater control. In '65, VW finally changed to levers for front-back, and from cool to warm.

I;ve also loved Datsun 510 sedans since trey were first introduced in '69 or '70!

Porsche 911 engine in it! I expected to see a VW Type 4 or built 1 in it!

This '68 Nova was cool! With the exception of the air cleaner, this thing was stock!

Finally....

A 1950 Chevy Pickup. My dad had a '49 for a number of years. It was the first vehicle I ever drove, and I was 11!

If you don't know, the button to the right of the gas pedal is the starter. You turned on the key, put your foot on the clutch, then pressed that button with your toe while using your heel to work the gas.

Ah, low-riders! Why was I glad to see them?
IMG_0043.JPG

Because they do great interior work! I have the number of the man who did this Monte's interior. I'm going to contact him about the seat foam for my Newport.

That's it; hope you enjoyed!

Man these are some cool shows! I’m from Santa Maria and mainly only ever see shows here. However, my wife and I will be attending the Good Guys show in August. My in laws live in Vacaville and they really wanted to take me to the show. Looking forward to that one!

I’ve got a big soft spot for Montes. My brother (who is really my half brother, however we don’t view ourselves as such…) is 10 years older than me, and got a ‘70 when I was about 7 or 8. I thought it was the COOLEST car. My brother’s dad had a ‘70 (still does) - and now the rest of my brother’s brothers from their dad are working on getting their Montes! One of them bought one around the same time I got my New Yorker. That thing came around tenfold. Such a beautiful car
