The paint job and putting a '61 fury back together

Factory installed Solex tinted glass, It was a green tint. No aftermarket film tint will look right Steph. just forget about tinting or find factory tinted glass.
I was wondering if there was green tint available for my car I can put on the windows . On a hot Summer day it is hot with the clear glass but with the tint it will be cooler . I want it to look like factory tint I am going to google this more and do more research.

Here is what the factory tinted glass looks like Steph. This is my car as I found it.

I thought that is what it looked like I found some of this solex tint film on ebay but I hope I can find a shop that has this also . I am looking right now .

Does any one here know were I can locate a 4barrel manafold for my '61 poly 318 ? The rear end is also making a noise and my dad said a rear end to a 68 -70 C body would fit my car I had a 4bbl on my last '61 fury and that also had a poly 318 but my dad put that on . I have seen 1 on ebay starting bid is $499.00 do not want to bid on something unless I have the funds to pay for it

Careful looking at 4bbl poly manifolds Steph. The early ones, (56 to 58), will only allow you to use a smaller WCFB carb. The 59/60 and 61/62 variation will allow you to use a AFB carb. Unless you get lucky expect to put out $1K for a complete setup. OEM Manifold, carb, air filter, etc. For your use your better off sticking with the 2bbl. Send the carb to Woodruff to be restored.

I put a complete rear end out of a 1968 Chrysler Newport in my 61. A direct bolt in. Same gear ratio, 2:92 so my speedo is correct. You gain a big advantage with the larger, later design brakes and non tapered axles.

I know you get bigger brakes and better stopping My other '61 had a rear end off a later model Chrysler and it fit and it was better stopping . I wish I stole the 4bbl manifold off my other '61 before it was taken. . I plan to have mine at the TN Valley Mopar show this year it will be June 19th . My dad fixed the problem with the carburetor I will still fill the tank with the Shell Vpower ( 93 octane)but I will add ethanol treatment before the fill up I burned the 93 in my other '61 when my dad drove it back from storage after the 1st garage fire he told me that the engine ran so smooth.

Looks great, been following your build for some time. I might have some solex window glass parts for you. JMO it would be a shame to cover up the red interior with blacked out windows.
The red really pops against the black.

I am trying to locate solex film for the car but if I cannot I will do a light tint but not very dark. It will protect the interior when it is out at the car show grounds I tinted the windows on my previous '61 and it made a difference it was a lot cooler than it was with the clear glass. If you do have the glass how much plus shipping if you do not have the glass thank you for trying

The noise was quieted down but in the future I plan to get a later model C body rear end so that tool won't be needed

I have the wing windows and the door glass. I will have to check for the the rear roll ups.
I don't have the rear sky high window though.

If you cannot find all I will say thank you for trying and I will put a light tint on the car not too dark just enough to protect the vinal and the rest of the interior

No Steph. It's the camera.... or the operator. It hurts my eyes to look at these pictures. :poke:. I can take clear pictures in those same conditions with my phone and camera both, :stop:

I will bet its the light in the ceiling of the garage but when I take photos of the car out side using the iPhone camera they turn out better plus the ceiling in the garage is metal also . I will bet that is it.

Steph: I think the lens on your camera / phone is either scratched or very dirty. That would cause the light entering the camera to be skewed and scattered resulting in fuzzy out-of-focus pictures. Or maybe there is some camera setting in your phone that is turned on or turned off. Here is a photo I took some time ago with a digital camera with a dirty lens. You can see how washed out and fuzzy it is:

Here is a shot I took with my old android phone with a clean lens:

I hope these comments help you figure out what is happening with your photos. And. . . Regardless, I REALLY love your car!
