The auctuion ended with no bidders - surprise! I emailed him to suggest he start the auction at a far more realistic $2,000 and just let it go from there, if he were truly interested in helping his friend out. I'm fairly certain he won't respond.

He may respond and he will tell you three things, 1) thank you noticing his ad, 2) ignore said ad if you are not interested in the car, and 3) he has researched the value and believes the price listed is accurate.
