I concur :-D

But while the side trim screams New Yorker, the tiny visible bit of the grille, looks a lot like 71' 300 ?

I would have paid the 1000 USD for this, just to have it sit in my driveway, making sure it was not... "disposed of"

no Kasper, it is a square looking 71 Chrysler New Yorker headlight corner. Trust me.
I owned one of those. Till today I am not sure if I really like that grill.
Maybe ask member "safeforwardlook" he knows the guy with the Imp, maybe he can let you know if it is still out there

As I understand it from a few months back, that Imperial was sold. Not sure where it went though. It was a nice car with a really beautiful leather bucket seat interior. A shame, but no one wanted it except the derby guys after much advertising. I will have to check to see where it ended up. I really didn't want to ask......................

Yes.. your'e right Carsten.. sorry.. I saved the picture, and zoomed in after my previous post! I just thought that I saw the middle "ornamentation" from the wide 71' 300 grille

Thanks for the tip on the Imp, and it seems like saforwardlook already answered.. but what a sad answer it was. If some derby guys got a hold of it, I's gonna have to morn again !

Thanks a lot for the info!

"Demo".. a 71 Coupe.. = sacrilege ! I don't even understand how this thing could survive a full CL listing duration..!

If you can put me in touch with the seller/owner, and get some more info on condition, and more pictures, I would consider saving it.. at that price, there's room in the budget for a nice crate motor.. :)

no way the brown 71 Chrysler in the background is a 300. It is a New Yorker

I talked to the owner - it was sold a while back....it is in Finland.

That's great! No demo derby! And perhaps I may see this one up and running someday!

Thank you who ever it was. :)

I talked to the owner - it was sold a while back....it is in Finland. And the other car is a 300.

Thanks a lot Varin, for clearing that up.. Someone got themselves a nice Imp..

Sad to see it gone, but VERY happy, that it wasn't "demolished"... I would have saved it, but to late again!

And thus my 70 Coupé hunt continues ~ All tips welcome.. :sSig_thanks:

(and Carsten, no matter where in Germany you are, I can be there in abt. 10 hours with cash.. ;-)

I see the New 300 / Yorker discussion flared up again..:stpatty1:

Initially, I thought "71' 300 with New Yorker trim" OR vice versa "New Yorker with 300 grill/headlights", but what ever shiny part that is seen inside the bumper in the original picture, is taller than the 71' 300 grill trim...

Carsten got me convinced.. and after comparing a few pic's, I strongly believe that it IS a New Yorker..

He got his C-body religion fast.
At a grand it looks like it's worth it.
'71 coupe? Nice.

License plate says hoe, does it ? ;)

But seriously, good Thing it found a new home.

I'll tell you what; he is a nice guy so you tell him (the owner) about the car he owns.

I remember from the ads on craigslist that he owned a lot of fuselage C-Bodies, all parked in the background.
So there might have been a 71 300, too

Anyhow if he is a good friend of yours please invite him to this board so we can talk "c-body" with him and he can share more details with us

Carsten

The plate's letters are actually HQE if you look closely, not that it matters at all.....................................................
