Thank you! Shop manual is on order and yes I am sure I will have questions.I really liked when Chrysler went to the multi piece dash boards with the formals. It makes getting to the heater so easy. I have done many of them so if you need help just ask.
I was very disappointed in the airflow also. It's not the motor ( it's the same motor as used by GM of the same era ((check the interchange)) and my 70's GMs had airflow that would blow your hair back). It has to be a crappy design of the ductwork.Th problem is the air flow volume. The air flow is barely coming out of the vents like a blend door isn't opening or there is a blockage somewhere.
When I had the dash apart, all the ductwork was clean as a whistle.maybe there are some yummy mouse pies in the A/C duct work
But not the NYB. That adds to the mystery, then.My 1978 Newport has massive air flow through the vents.

Mike's 78 Newport in Indiana has massive air flow too.
The thought of taking it apart again......![]()
The shop manual was to help me with getting at the heater core, and vent work to check for rodent debris.I'm confused by the title. The shop manual is helping you clean up that mess? I'm also wondering how they gained access to a "rust free" car? Nice save too.
possibly a restriction in the return rather than the supply ducting. i e plugged evaporator or heater core.
I seem to remember something about the formals having problems with the cowl getting plugged up with dirt and leaves.I will be examining every nook and cranny......
Just a thought, Bob.I will be examining every nook and cranny......
Just a thought, Bob.
A while ago, I bought a cheap probe camera on Alibaba for rediculously cheap money. Yah, it is crappy but it does work.
You plug it into your smartphone or tablet using an OTG dongle. I had fun using it snaking up through my NYB's ductwork from the outlets. Went clear into the heater box.
Was like a doctor looking down a throat into the stomach.
